Amazon has today updated the fire HD 10 tablet with new internals, although it looks the same and the display hasn’t changed either. It still procedures 10.1-inches, which is a fair old size for something that’s relatively economical for the market segment.
The big changes all come on the inside of the device, starting with USB-C charging. It’s the first time Amazon has used the connector and will likely not be the last. It supports fast charging as well, so you’ll be able to get power into your new tablet great and quickly.
Speaking of quick, the new tablet is apparently 30% faster thanks to an upgraded CPU, with battery life savings indicating you can expect around 20% a lot more on a single charge. Amazon has also boosted the amount of storage you can add by means of microSD card, too, with 512GB now the limit. Previously, it was just 200GB. That’s quite an upgrade.
“We’ve made our best tablet even better with a faster processor, longer battery life, and faster charging,” said Kevin Keith, Vice President, Amazon Devices.
If looks are your thing, then you’ll take pleasure in the new color options at hand. There’s blue, white, and plum as well as the black with which we’re all already familiar. The fire HD 10 kids edition gets a new case as well. Software-wise, things are generally the same as always.
The cost of these things isn’t changing, either. prices start at $149 for the conventional fire HD 10 while the kids edition will set you back $199. Both versions will be available from October 30th and you can pre-order your tablet now.
